What to know about Bitcoin
Bitcoin is the first proof-of-work blockchain: a new block roughly every ten minutes, a hard cap of 21 million coins and a block subsidy of 3.125 BTC since the April 2024 halving. Fees are not set in BTC but in satoshis per virtual byte, so the cost of a transfer depends on how many inputs your wallet spends, not on the amount. BTC mistakes that cost money
Pasting a Lightning invoice (lnbcโฆ) or a Lightning address instead of an on-chain address. Payouts are on-chain only, and an invoice is not an address the coins can be sent to.
Sending with the lowest fee your wallet offers during a busy mempool. The transaction can sit unconfirmed for hours; if your wallet supports Replace-by-Fee, bump the fee rather than sending a second payment.
Spending dozens of small UTXOs at once. The fee grows with every input, so consolidating dust when fees are low is cheaper than doing it inside a swap.

Can I send BTC from an exchange withdrawal?
Yes. Exchanges often batch withdrawals and broadcast them minutes later; the order starts counting confirmations only once the transaction appears in the mempool, so leave the order page open.
Does KOT.CASH accept Taproot or SegWit addresses for payouts?
The address is checked when the order is created. Native SegWit (bc1qโฆ) is the safest choice; if your wallet only offers another format, you will see at that step whether it is accepted.
