Exchange Bitcoin (BTC) to Aptos (APT)

Rotating an Aptos authentication key does not replace the account address. Before paying Bitcoin, get the receiving details for the intended Aptos account rather than copying the newest hexadecimal value from account settings.

A new signing credential is not a new payout recipient

Aptos documentation separates the account address from its authentication key. At creation they are related, but the authentication key can later change while the account address stays the same. A wallet settings screen showing a changed key therefore does not establish that the same account now needs a different APT receiving address.

For this BTC to APT exchange, the relevant destination is the account you intend to credit. Take its receiving instruction from the appropriate wallet or hosted platform. Do not derive a replacement recipient from a public key, an authentication-key value or a recovery screen simply because the value resembles an address. No key rotation is required as part of buying APT through the exchange.

Resolve a changed wallet display before sending Bitcoin

Name the account you mean to fund
If the wallet exposes several accounts, select the intended one before copying receiving details. A different account can legitimately have a different address; that observation should not be explained away as key rotation of the original account.
Clarify a mismatch instead of editing the address
When a migration, recovery or account-settings screen presents conflicting values, ask the wallet or receiving service which value is the actual deposit instruction. Explain that you need the recipient account, without sending recovery material. Resolve the question before using a quote as a reason to hurry.
Treat a hosted deposit instruction as a complete instruction
A custodial account can provide its own network and deposit details. Protocol support for account-key rotation does not establish what that platform accepts or which balance it will credit. Check the APT network and the supplied receiving process on the platform itself.

Compare the payout with the intended account

The current Aptos application guide explains that stateless accounts have valid defaults without prior account setup. A generic account lookup alone is therefore not evidence that the intended person controls a candidate address. Choose the recipient from a trusted receiving instruction rather than treating an explorer response as permission to replace it.

After an exchange, keep its reference, the Bitcoin funding transaction and the APT payout reference distinct. If the expected wallet balance is unclear, compare the actual recipient with the confirmed account address first. A difference between the current authentication key and that address is not, by itself, evidence of a missing payout. Investigate the receiving account and the payment record instead of funding a second exchange to test another guessed identifier.

Questions about the Aptos recipient

Does rotating an Aptos authentication key change the account address?
The official account model keeps the account address stable while the authentication key can change. A different account is a separate case, so confirm which account the wallet is showing.
Can I paste the newest authentication key as the APT recipient?
Do not replace a receiving instruction with an authentication-key value. Use the confirmed account address supplied by the intended wallet or platform.
Does an account lookup prove that the address belongs to my wallet?
No. The current stateless-account model can provide defaults without prior setup. Ownership and the intended recipient must come from the appropriate wallet or receiving instruction.
