Which USDT network to send from
USDT exists on several blockchains. The network fee is always paid in the network's native coin (TRX, ETH, BNB or SOL), never in USDT itself. The rule that matters: the network must match what the wallet or service on the other side supports.

USDT to AVAX: what matters
AVAX on C-Chain is the gas coin for everything built on Avalanche, so USDT to AVAX is often a top-up: you have tokens on Avalanche and need gas to move them, or you want to start using an Avalanche app. Because C-Chain is EVM, your existing MetaMask or Core 0x address works. Just make sure the wallet is set to Avalanche C-Chain, not Ethereum, when you look for the balance.
USDT is a centrally issued token: Tether can freeze addresses on request of law enforcement. That is a property of USDT itself, not of the exchange you use.
Because the C-Chain uses 0x addresses, the most common AVAX mistake is selecting the wrong network in MetaMask.

Common USDT โ AVAX mistakes
ERC20 and BEP20 addresses look identical (0xโฆ). If the receiving service only supports one of them, funds sent on the other network may be lost or require a paid manual recovery.
Your wallet needs the native coin for gas: TRX on TRON, ETH on Ethereum, BNB on BSC, SOL on Solana.
