USDT TRC20 Transfer Fee Calculator

On TRON, USDT is a smart contract, and calling it costs energy and bandwidth rather than a simple fee. If your wallet has no staked or rented energy, the network burns TRX to pay for it. The amount depends mostly on one thing you might not expect: whether the recipient's address already holds USDT. This calculator uses the chain parameters read from TronGrid on 20.10.2026 and lets you change every number.

Energy price and free bandwidth are TRON chain parameters (getEnergyFee = 100 sun, free bandwidth 600 per day, read from TronGrid on 20.10.2026). They change by governance vote โ€” the fields are editable. Energy per transfer is approximate and depends on the USDT contract's state.

Where the cost comes from

A USDT-TRC20 transfer consumes about 64,000 energy when the recipient already has a USDT balance, and about 130,000 when the recipient has never held USDT, because the contract has to create a new storage slot. At the current energy price of 100 sun (0.0001 TRX) per unit, that is roughly 6.4 TRX or 13 TRX burned.

Bandwidth is the second, smaller resource: a transfer is about 345 bytes. Every account gets 600 bytes of free bandwidth per day, enough for one transfer; beyond that the network burns 0.001 TRX per byte, about 0.35 TRX per transfer.

energy TRX = max(0, transfers ร— energy per transfer โˆ’ your energy) ร— energy price รท 1,000,000 bandwidth TRX = paid transfers ร— 345 bytes ร— 1,000 sun รท 1,000,000 total = energy TRX + bandwidth TRX

How to pay less

  • Send to addresses that already hold USDT when you have a choice โ€” the first transfer to a fresh address costs about twice as much.
  • Batch: one larger transfer instead of several small ones burns energy once.
  • Stake TRX for energy (Stake 2.0) if you send USDT often. Staked TRX gives energy every day; unstaking takes 14 days.
  • Energy rental services exist; compare their price per unit with the 100 sun burn price before paying.

A wallet with zero TRX cannot send USDT-TRC20 at all unless someone delegates energy to it. Keep a few TRX next to your USDT.

The parameters change

Energy price and free bandwidth are TRON network parameters set by vote of the super representatives, and they have been lowered more than once. The defaults here were read from TronGrid's getchainparameters on 20.10.2026: getEnergyFee = 100 sun, getTransactionFee = 1,000 sun per byte, free bandwidth 600. Energy per transfer is approximate. If your wallet shows a different estimate, type it in.

Frequently asked questions

+How much TRX does one USDT TRC20 transfer cost?

With today's parameters about 6.4 TRX to an address that already holds USDT and about 13 TRX to one that never did, plus about 0.35 TRX of bandwidth if your free daily bandwidth is used up.

+Why is the first transfer to a new address more expensive?

The USDT contract creates a new balance entry for that address, which costs roughly twice the energy.

+Can I pay the fee in USDT?

Not on the TRON network itself. Fees are paid in TRX or with staked or delegated energy.

+Is TRC20 still cheaper than ERC20?

Usually yes, and often much cheaper than Ethereum during busy periods. Solana and BEP20 are typically cheaper still; the network fee comparison tool puts them side by side.

+Does KOT.CASH charge this when I receive USDT-TRC20?

The payout's network cost is part of the quote; you do not need TRX to receive USDT. You will need TRX to send it on later.

Calculations run entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent to KOT.CASH. Results are estimates for information only and are not financial, tax or legal advice.
