Swap USDT to Polkadot (DOT)
Turn USDT into native DOT delivered to a Polkadot address you control โ ready to hold, nominate or move to a parachain. The rate is quoted before you send, and nothing needs to be registered.
Which USDT network to send from
USDT exists on several blockchains. The network fee is always paid in the network's native coin (TRX, ETH, BNB or SOL), never in USDT itself. The rule that matters: the network must match what the wallet or service on the other side supports.
| Network | Address | Gas | Speed | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TRC20 TRON | starts with T (34 characters) | paid in TRX via Energy/Bandwidth โ a wallet with zero TRX usually cannot send USDT at all | 3-second blocks | receiving on most CEX and P2P desks; the default USDT rail in many regions |
| ERC20 Ethereum | 0xโฆ (42 characters) | paid in ETH; the most expensive option when the network is busy | 12-second blocks | DeFi on Ethereum, hardware-wallet cold storage, large amounts |
| BEP20 BNB Smart Chain | 0xโฆ โ identical format to ERC20 | paid in BNB; usually low | sub-second to ~1-second blocks | wallets that already hold BNB for gas, BSC DeFi |
| SOL Solana (SPL token) | base58, 32โ44 characters | paid in SOL; fractions of a cent, but the wallet needs a little SOL | ~0.4-second slots | cheap frequent transfers if you already use Phantom/Solflare |
Exact fees move with network load โ the widget always shows the current amount you will receive.
USDT to DOT: what matters
USDT to DOT is mostly a 'buy and hold' or 'buy and nominate' move. The DOT arrives as the native asset, not a wrapped token, so it can go straight into a nomination pool from Nova or Talisman. The one Polkadot rule that surprises newcomers is the existential deposit: an account has to keep a minimum balance or it is reaped. Receiving into a brand-new address is fine as long as the payout is above that minimum, which normal swap sizes are.
USDT is a centrally issued token: Tether can freeze addresses on request of law enforcement. That is a property of USDT itself, not of the exchange you use.
Addresses on Polkadot parachains share the same key but a different prefix โ always copy the address shown for the Polkadot network.
Tether vs Polkadot: the networks side by side
| USDT | DOT | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | multi-chain stablecoin issued by Tether | Polkadot (native DOT) |
| Blocks / confirmation | depends on the network you pick | 6-second blocks with finality usually within a minute |
| Address format | depends on the network you pick | SS58 format starting with 1โฆ |
| Network fee | always paid in the network's native coin (TRX, ETH, BNB or SOL), never in USDT itself | small, paid in DOT |
| Memo / tag | not used | not needed to receive |
| Wallets | Trust Wallet, TronLink (TRC20), MetaMask (ERC20/BEP20), Phantom (SOL) | Nova Wallet, Talisman, SubWallet, Polkadot.js, Ledger |
How to swap USDT to DOT, step by step
- 1
Select USDT โ DOT in the widget and enter the amount. It shows the current minimum, the DOT you will receive and the rate type (1% float or 1.5% fixed) before anything is sent.
- 2
Pick the network your USDT is on (TRC20, ERC20, BEP20, SOL). You must send from that exact network, and gas is paid in its native coin.
- 3
Paste your DOT address โ SS58 format starting with 1โฆ. Copy it from your wallet (Nova Wallet, Talisman, SubWallet, Polkadot.js, Ledger) and compare the first and last characters.
- 4
Create the order and send exactly the shown amount of USDT to the deposit address. Bookmark the order link โ it shows the live status.
- 5
Wait for confirmations: depends on the network you pick. The liquidity provider sets how many are required; the order page shows the live count.
- 6
DOT is sent to your address automatically. On the receiving side: 6-second blocks with finality usually within a minute. The transaction hash appears on the order page.
Common USDT โ DOT mistakes
ERC20 and BEP20 addresses look identical (0xโฆ). If the receiving service only supports one of them, funds sent on the other network may be lost or require a paid manual recovery.
Your wallet needs the native coin for gas: TRX on TRON, ETH on Ethereum, BNB on BSC, SOL on Solana.
Check the contract: real USDT on TRON is TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t, on Ethereum 0xdAC17F958D2ee523a2206206994597C13D831ec7. Fake 'USDT' tokens airdropped to wallets are worthless.
Polkadot accounts have an existential deposit: if a balance drops below it, the account is reaped and the dust is lost. Leave a buffer or send the full balance on purpose.
Staked or nominated DOT has to be unbonded first; the unbonding period can last weeks โ your wallet shows the exact date.
KOT.CASH vs a centralised exchange for USDT โ DOT
| KOT.CASH | Centralised exchange | |
|---|---|---|
| Account & KYC | No sign-up; no ID documents for standard swaps | Account required; regulated exchanges must verify identity |
| Steps | One order: send USDT, receive DOT at your own address | Deposit USDT โ wait for credit โ trade โ request DOT withdrawal |
| Custody | Funds pass through the service only for the swap | Funds sit in the exchange account until you withdraw |
| Withdrawal | Automatic once the deposit is confirmed | Withdrawal fee; limits, holds or extra checks are possible |
| Cost | 1% float or 1.5% fixed + network fees; final amount shown upfront | Trading fee, spread and withdrawal fee โ vary by exchange and volume |
| Where a CEX is better | No fiat, limit orders or margin โ crypto-to-crypto swaps only | Fiat on/off-ramp, limit orders, very large volumes |
This compares how the processes work, not any specific exchange. Exchange tariffs change โ check them on the platform itself.
USDT to DOT: questions people ask
My wallet shows DOT on Asset Hub โ is that a problem?
No. Polkadot moved balances and everyday transfers to its Asset Hub system chain; wallets show it as Polkadot DOT. Paste the address your wallet gives for Polkadot.
Is DOT from this swap ready for a nomination pool?
Yes. It is ordinary DOT in your account. Joining a pool or nominating is done in your wallet; unbonding later takes weeks.
How long do USDT confirmations take?
Depends on the network you pick. The liquidity provider decides how many confirmations are required; the order page shows the live count.
Which address format should I use?
A Polkadot address in SS58 format that starts with 1. Copy it with the Polkadot network selected in Nova, Talisman, SubWallet or Polkadot.js.
Can I receive DOT on BSC or Ethereum?
This page delivers native DOT. Wrapped or bridged DOT tokens on other chains are different assets.
Can I stake the DOT right away?
Yes, once it arrives. Staking and nomination pools are done in your wallet; KOT.CASH does not stake for you.

USDT and DOT networks: confirmations and memo
Built from the liquidity provider's network list as of 2026-10-20. "Confirmations" is how many blocks the provider waits for before crediting a deposit; the order page shows the exact number for your order. If the memo column names a tag, a deposit without it cannot be matched automatically.
