How to Swap BNB to USDT: BEP20, TRC20 or ERC20 Payout

To swap BNB to USDT, send BNB from BNB Smart Chain to the deposit on the BNB to USDT page and choose where the USDT should land: BEP20 on the same chain (it can even go back to the same 0x address), TRC20, ERC20 or another supported network. The minimum is tiny — about 0.0092 BNB, roughly $7 with BNB near $738 — and the deposit side finishes in under a minute. The decisions that matter are the payout network and how much BNB to leave for gas.

BEP20 back to the same wallet, or another network?

USDT on BNB Smart Chain is the token at contract 0x55d398326f99059fF775485246999027B3197955. It uses 18 decimals, unlike USDT on Ethereum and TRON, which use 6. Your wallet handles this automatically; it only matters if you read raw amounts in BscScan or in a contract call. Receiving USDT BEP20 to the same 0x address you send BNB from is the simplest option, and the payout network fee on BSC is a few cents.

If the USDT is going to an exchange, check its deposit page first. Many exchanges accept USDT on BSC, but some only list TRC20 or ERC20, and a deposit on an unlisted network is the classic cause of lost funds. The table below summarises the options for this pair.

How much BNB to keep

Every action on BNB Smart Chain is paid in BNB. A plain transfer uses 21,000 gas, a BEP20 token transfer around 50,000–65,000, a DEX swap 100,000–200,000. Validators have lowered the network's gas price several times since 2024, so at today's levels a token transfer costs a fraction of a cent. Still, the fee is never zero: if you swap every last BNB and receive USDT BEP20 back, you will not be able to send that USDT anywhere until you buy BNB again.

Keep 0.001–0.002 BNB in the wallet. That covers dozens of token transfers at current gas prices. The gas fee calculator converts any gas amount and gwei price into BNB and dollars if you want to check.

Step by step

1. Open the BNB to USDT swap, type the BNB amount and select the USDT network.
2. Paste the receive address. For BEP20 it is your 0x address; for TRC20 a T… address from a TRON wallet or exchange.
3. Choose floating (1% service fee) or fixed (1.5%). For a swap that confirms in under a minute, the floating rate rarely drifts far.
4. Create the order and send BNB on BNB Smart Chain to the deposit address — not on opBNB and not as a BEP2 asset from an old Beacon Chain wallet, which no longer exists.
5. 60 blocks pass in well under a minute at BSC's current block time. The provider's processing estimate is 1–2 minutes, then the payout is sent.

Withdrawing BNB from an exchange to the deposit

Choose BSC or BEP20 as the withdrawal network. Some exchanges also offer opBNB, the layer-2 network with the same 0x address format — sending BNB there will not reach a BSC deposit. The exchange subtracts its withdrawal fee from the amount, so enter the order amount plus the fee, or adjust the order to match what will actually arrive. No memo is needed for BNB on BNB Smart Chain.

Reading the deposit on BscScan

Paste the transaction hash into BscScan. For a native BNB transfer the page shows Status: Success, the From and To addresses, the Value in BNB and the transaction fee. The To field must be the deposit address from the order page. A Status of Fail usually means the gas limit was set too low by hand; the BNB stays in your wallet minus the fee, and you can send again to the same order while its countdown is running.

When the payout is USDT BEP20, the payout hash shows a Token Transfer (BEP-20) line rather than a Value — that is normal for tokens. If your wallet does not display the USDT, add the token by its contract address; the balance was there all along.

When BNB to USDT is not the right move
