Swap USDT to Cardano (ADA)
Send USDT from any of four networks and get ADA on Cardano mainnet, straight into Eternl, Lace, Yoroi or a Ledger. You see the ADA amount before you send anything.
Which USDT network to send from
USDT exists on several blockchains. The network fee is always paid in the network's native coin (TRX, ETH, BNB or SOL), never in USDT itself. The rule that matters: the network must match what the wallet or service on the other side supports.
| Network | Address | Gas | Speed | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TRC20 TRON | starts with T (34 characters) | paid in TRX via Energy/Bandwidth โ a wallet with zero TRX usually cannot send USDT at all | 3-second blocks | receiving on most CEX and P2P desks; the default USDT rail in many regions |
| ERC20 Ethereum | 0xโฆ (42 characters) | paid in ETH; the most expensive option when the network is busy | 12-second blocks | DeFi on Ethereum, hardware-wallet cold storage, large amounts |
| BEP20 BNB Smart Chain | 0xโฆ โ identical format to ERC20 | paid in BNB; usually low | sub-second to ~1-second blocks | wallets that already hold BNB for gas, BSC DeFi |
| SOL Solana (SPL token) | base58, 32โ44 characters | paid in SOL; fractions of a cent, but the wallet needs a little SOL | ~0.4-second slots | cheap frequent transfers if you already use Phantom/Solflare |
Exact fees move with network load โ the widget always shows the current amount you will receive.
USDT to ADA: what matters
People buy ADA with USDT to delegate it or to use Cardano apps, and Cardano makes the first part easy: delegation keeps the coins liquid, so nothing gets locked. What does need attention is the minimum-UTXO rule โ each Cardano output carries roughly 1 ADA at least, which is why very small payouts and 'send everything' with tokens attached can fail. For a normal swap size this never shows up; for dust it does.
USDT is a centrally issued token: Tether can freeze addresses on request of law enforcement. That is a property of USDT itself, not of the exchange you use.
Cardano's eUTXO model makes fees predictable before you sign, which is handy when you swap an exact amount.
Tether vs Cardano: the networks side by side
| USDT | ADA | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | multi-chain stablecoin issued by Tether | Cardano mainnet (eUTXO) |
| Blocks / confirmation | depends on the network you pick | a block about every 20 seconds on average |
| Address format | depends on the network you pick | addr1โฆ (Shelley); old Byron addresses start with Ae2 or DdzFF |
| Network fee | always paid in the network's native coin (TRX, ETH, BNB or SOL), never in USDT itself | about 0.17โ0.2 ADA for a simple transfer |
| Memo / tag | not used | not needed to receive |
| Wallets | Trust Wallet, TronLink (TRC20), MetaMask (ERC20/BEP20), Phantom (SOL) | Eternl, Lace, Yoroi, Vespr, Ledger |
How to swap USDT to ADA, step by step
- 1
Select USDT โ ADA in the widget and enter the amount. It shows the current minimum, the ADA you will receive and the rate type (1% float or 1.5% fixed) before anything is sent.
- 2
Pick the network your USDT is on (TRC20, ERC20, BEP20, SOL). You must send from that exact network, and gas is paid in its native coin.
- 3
Paste your ADA address โ addr1โฆ (Shelley); old Byron addresses start with Ae2 or DdzFF. Copy it from your wallet (Eternl, Lace, Yoroi, Vespr, Ledger) and compare the first and last characters.
- 4
Create the order and send exactly the shown amount of USDT to the deposit address. Bookmark the order link โ it shows the live status.
- 5
Wait for confirmations: depends on the network you pick. The liquidity provider sets how many are required; the order page shows the live count.
- 6
ADA is sent to your address automatically. On the receiving side: a block about every 20 seconds on average. The transaction hash appears on the order page.
Common USDT โ ADA mistakes
ERC20 and BEP20 addresses look identical (0xโฆ). If the receiving service only supports one of them, funds sent on the other network may be lost or require a paid manual recovery.
Your wallet needs the native coin for gas: TRX on TRON, ETH on Ethereum, BNB on BSC, SOL on Solana.
Check the contract: real USDT on TRON is TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t, on Ethereum 0xdAC17F958D2ee523a2206206994597C13D831ec7. Fake 'USDT' tokens airdropped to wallets are worthless.
Every Cardano output must carry a minimum of roughly 1 ADA, so very small sends and 'send all' with native tokens attached can fail.
Staking does not lock ADA โ delegated ADA can be sent at any time, no unbonding needed.
KOT.CASH vs a centralised exchange for USDT โ ADA
| KOT.CASH | Centralised exchange | |
|---|---|---|
| Account & KYC | No sign-up; no ID documents for standard swaps | Account required; regulated exchanges must verify identity |
| Steps | One order: send USDT, receive ADA at your own address | Deposit USDT โ wait for credit โ trade โ request ADA withdrawal |
| Custody | Funds pass through the service only for the swap | Funds sit in the exchange account until you withdraw |
| Withdrawal | Automatic once the deposit is confirmed | Withdrawal fee; limits, holds or extra checks are possible |
| Cost | 1% float or 1.5% fixed + network fees; final amount shown upfront | Trading fee, spread and withdrawal fee โ vary by exchange and volume |
| Where a CEX is better | No fiat, limit orders or margin โ crypto-to-crypto swaps only | Fiat on/off-ramp, limit orders, very large volumes |
This compares how the processes work, not any specific exchange. Exchange tariffs change โ check them on the platform itself.
USDT to ADA: questions people ask
Which USDT network is cheapest to send from for ADA?
Whichever network your USDT already sits on. TRC20 needs TRX for energy, BEP20 needs BNB, Solana needs a little SOL; moving USDT to another chain first only adds a fee.
Do I need to register a stake key before receiving?
No. Any addr1 address can receive ADA. Registering a stake key happens when you first delegate, and it uses a refundable deposit.
How long do USDT confirmations take?
Depends on the network you pick. The liquidity provider decides how many confirmations are required; the order page shows the live count.
Which Cardano address should I paste?
A Shelley address starting with addr1. Old Byron addresses (Ae2โฆ, DdzFFโฆ) still work on-chain but most wallets no longer generate them.
Can I delegate the ADA I receive?
Yes. Delegation in Cardano does not lock coins, so you can delegate and still move ADA at any time.
How long does USDT to ADA take?
The USDT deposit usually confirms in a few minutes on TRC20, BEP20 or Solana; the ADA payout then needs Cardano blocks, about 20 seconds each.

USDT and ADA networks: confirmations and memo
Built from the liquidity provider's network list as of 2026-10-20. "Confirmations" is how many blocks the provider waits for before crediting a deposit; the order page shows the exact number for your order. If the memo column names a tag, a deposit without it cannot be matched automatically.
