What to know about PayPal USD
PYUSD is PayPal's dollar stablecoin, issued by Paxos, a New York–regulated trust company, and backed by dollar deposits and short-term US Treasuries. PayPal and Venmo users in supported countries can hold PYUSD inside the apps and send it to an external wallet on Ethereum or Solana; on Solana PYUSD uses the newer Token-2022 standard. With the provider, the two networks behave differently right now: PYUSD on Ethereum is open both ways, while PYUSD on Solana can be deposited but not paid out. So a swap into PYUSD arrives on Ethereum, and a swap out of PYUSD can start from either network.
