What to know about Curve DAO
CRV is the token of Curve, the exchange that specialises in swaps between similar assets such as stablecoins or ETH and its liquid-staking versions. Its economics revolve around vote-locking: CRV locked as veCRV for up to four years earns a share of fees and votes on which pools receive new CRV emissions. veCRV cannot be transferred or unlocked early, so it can never be swapped. Liquid wrappers such as cvxCRV exist on top, but they are separate tokens. New CRV is minted continuously to liquidity providers, which is why many wallets accumulate it through farming. The provider handles CRV as an ERC20 on Ethereum.
