What to know about Waves
Waves accounts can hold the native WAVES coin alongside separately issued tokens. Unlike those tokens, WAVES has no issuance identifier; the node API represents its asset ID with null. An asset with a familiar name is therefore not sufficient evidence that you selected the native coin. Balance terminology creates another practical trap. Waves distinguishes regular, available, effective and generating balances. Outgoing leases reduce the amount available to spend, while incoming leases can increase the effective balance without giving you those coins to send. Before exchanging, inspect the available figure and active outgoing leases. A lease cancellation is its own operation, so verify its result before entering the amount into an exchange instruction.

Why is my effective balance higher than the amount I can send?
The documented effective balance includes incoming leases, whereas available balance subtracts outgoing leases from your own regular balance. Incoming leased coins are not extra funds to transfer. Read the available balance before choosing an exchange amount.
What asset ID should the native WAVES coin have?
The project states that WAVES has no issued-token identifier and its node API uses null. Separately issued tokens have their own IDs. A name or ticker resembling WAVES should not replace that identity check.
Do leased WAVES leave my account?
The leasing documentation says coins remain under the owner’s control but are locked until cancellation. Check active lease status and the resulting available balance. This page does not promise a particular confirmation time or a guaranteed leasing reward.
