LDO is the governance token of Lido, the largest liquid-staking protocol for Ethereum. It is often confused with Lido's other tokens, which is the main risk on this page: stETH and wstETH represent staked ETH and track the price of ETH, while LDO is a separate governance token with its own market price. Sending stETH to an LDO deposit, or LDO to an address that expects stETH, means sending a completely different asset. LDO has no staking yield of its own and no lock; it can be swapped at any time.
