What to know about Hyperliquid
HYPE is the native token of Hyperliquid, a chain built for an on-chain perpetuals exchange. The chain has two parts that share one set of 0x addresses: HyperCore, where the exchange and spot balances live, and HyperEVM, a general EVM environment where HYPE pays gas. The provider handles HYPE on HyperEVM only. A HYPE balance shown in the Hyperliquid trading app is on HyperCore and has to be transferred to HyperEVM inside the app before it can be sent to a deposit address. Because both sides use the same address, it is easy to think the coins are already 'there' when they are not.
