People who search for a USDT BEP20 address usually mean one of two different things. The first is your own receiving address on BNB Smart Chain: a 0x address of 42 characters that your wallet shows when you tap Receive. The second is the token contract address, which identifies USDT itself on BSC. For the widely used USDT on BSC that contract is 0x55d398326f99059fF775485246999027B3197955. You give the first one to people who pay you; you use the second only to add or verify the token in a wallet.
Two addresses, two jobs
| Your BEP20 wallet address | USDT token contract on BSC | |
|---|---|---|
| Looks like | 0x + 40 hex characters | 0x55d398326f99059fF775485246999027B3197955 |
| Who controls it | You, through your seed phrase | Nobody sends coins to it; it is code |
| Where to find it | Wallet โ USDT or BNB โ Receive | BscScan token page, wallet token lists |
| Use it to | Receive USDT, BNB and other BEP20 tokens | Add the token manually, verify what you received |
| Send USDT to it? | Yes | Never, coins sent to a contract are usually lost |
The wallet address is the same for every token on BSC. USDT, BNB and any other BEP20 token you hold all sit on the same 0x account, and most wallets also reuse that exact address on Ethereum and other EVM networks. That is why the network you choose matters more than the address itself.
Who issues USDT on BNB Smart Chain
This is the detail most guides skip. On Tether's supported protocols page BNB Smart Chain is listed, but as of late October 2026 the page gives a BSC contract only for XAUโฎ, Tether's gold token, not for USDโฎ. The USDT that wallets, exchanges and swap services call USDT BEP20 is the token named Binance-Peg BSC-USD (ticker BSC-USD) on BscScan, a token issued by Binance to represent USDT on BSC.
For everyday transfers this rarely matters: the token is accepted wherever USDT BEP20 is accepted and trades close to one dollar. It matters in two places. First, Tether's own freezes and redemptions apply to the networks Tether issues on. Second, a token that calls itself USDT on BSC but has a different contract is not this token, whatever the wallet displays.
18 decimals, not 6
USDT on Ethereum and TRON uses 6 decimals. The BSC token uses 18. Wallets handle this for you, but it matters when you read raw explorer data, write a script or compare amounts across networks. One USDT on BSC is 1 followed by 18 zeros in the smallest units; on TRON it is 1 followed by 6 zeros. The token decimals converter translates raw values into normal amounts.
How to add USDT BEP20 to a wallet
- Switch the wallet to BNB Smart Chain. In MetaMask add the network if it is missing; Trust Wallet supports it out of the box.
- Search the token list for USDT on BNB Smart Chain. If the list shows several, pick the one whose contract matches 0x55d3โฆ7955 in full.
- If it is not listed, choose Import token or Add custom token and paste the contract address. The symbol and decimals (18) should fill in automatically.
- Compare the full contract with the BscScan token page, not with an address from a chat or an ad.
- Your balance appears under that token. Your receiving address remains your own 0x address.
How to check USDT BEP20 you received
Open the transaction on BscScan. In the token transfer line, click the token and confirm that the contract is the one above. If someone sent you a token named USDT from a different contract, it is not the BSC USDT you expected, even if the wallet shows a dollar value. Our article on fake USDT and contract checks walks through the evidence in more detail, and how to use BscScan explains the explorer screens.
BSC confirms quickly: since the Fermi hard fork on 14 January 2026 the network targets 0.45-second blocks, according to the BNB Chain team. Exchanges and swap services still wait for their own number of confirmations before crediting, so a deposit can take a minute or two to show.
Common mistakes with BEP20 USDT
- Sending USDT to the token contract address because it was copied from a token list instead of the wallet's Receive screen.
- Choosing BEP20 when the receiving exchange only credits ERC20 or TRC20 on that address; the same 0x format makes this easy to miss.
- Having no BNB on the account, so the received USDT cannot be sent anywhere until some BNB arrives for gas.
- Confusing BEP20 with the retired BEP2 format on BNB Beacon Chain, whose addresses started with bnb1.
If you want USDT on BSC from another coin, choose USDT with the BEP20 network in the swap form and paste your own 0x address, for example on the BNB to USDT or XRP to USDT pages. Before pasting, run the address through the address validator.
FAQ
What is the USDT BEP20 contract address?
The widely used USDT on BNB Smart Chain is the Binance-Peg BSC-USD token at 0x55d398326f99059fF775485246999027B3197955. Always confirm the full address on BscScan before adding it.
Is my USDT BEP20 address the same as my BNB address?
Yes. All BEP20 tokens and BNB live on the same 0x account, so the receiving address for USDT and BNB in one wallet is identical.
Is USDT BEP20 issued by Tether?
Tether's protocols page lists no USDโฎ contract on BSC as of October 2026. The common USDT on BSC is a token issued by Binance to represent USDT, shown on BscScan as Binance-Peg BSC-USD.
Can I send USDT BEP20 to an ERC20 address?
Technically the address format is the same, so the transfer goes through, but the coins stay on BSC. They are visible in a self-custody wallet after switching to BSC; on an exchange that only credits ERC20 they may need support to recover.
