OKX Wallet (the self-custody Web3 wallet, not the OKX exchange account) creates one recovery phrase and derives a separate address for every network family from it: one 0x address shared by Ethereum and all EVM networks, a T-address for Tron, a Base58 address for Solana, several Bitcoin addresses for different address types, plus addresses for Sui, Aptos, TON and others. To receive, open Receive, search the coin, pick the network and copy the address shown for that network.
One phrase, many derivation paths
Each network family has its own standard derivation path from the BIP39 phrase, and each produces a different key and address format. That is why the same OKX Wallet shows a 0x address on Arbitrum and a T-address on Tron for USDT. Restoring the phrase in another multichain wallet usually gives the same addresses, because the paths are standard โ but some networks have more than one convention, so check the first address after a restore before you send anything to it.
| Network family | Example networks | Address format | Gas coin |
|---|---|---|---|
| EVM | Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Base, Polygon, X Layer | 0x + 40 hex (same on all) | ETH, BNB, POL, OKBโฆ |
| Bitcoin | Bitcoin mainnet | bc1pโฆ (Taproot), bc1qโฆ (SegWit), 3โฆ, 1โฆ | BTC |
| Tron | Tron | T + 33 Base58 | TRX (energy) |
| Solana | Solana | 32โ44 Base58 | SOL |
| Move chains | Sui, Aptos | 0x + 64 hex | SUI, APT |
| TON | TON | UQโฆ / EQโฆ (user-friendly) | TON |
Receiving step by step
- Open OKX Wallet and make sure you are in the wallet you mean โ the app can hold several, including watch-only ones.
- Tap Receive and type the coin, for example USDT.
- Choose the network. USDT appears on many โ Tron, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Solana, TON and more โ and each row has its own address format.
- For Bitcoin choose the address type if asked; Taproot and Native SegWit are both widely accepted.
- Copy the address and compare its first and last characters after pasting.
OKX Wallet vs the OKX exchange app
The OKX app contains both an exchange account and the Web3 wallet, which confuses many users. Addresses under the exchange section are deposit addresses held by OKX; some networks there require a memo or tag. Addresses under the wallet section are yours, derived from your phrase, and never require a memo to receive. Transfers between the two are ordinary blockchain transfers (or internal ones, depending on the method), so the network and memo rules apply. When you fill in a payout address on another service, be sure you copied it from the section you intended.
Gas on each network
A multichain wallet needs a different gas coin on each network: TRX for USDT on Tron, ETH for Ethereum and its L2s, SOL for Solana, BNB on BNB Chain, TON on TON. An empty gas balance is the usual reason a token "cannot be sent". Some wallets, OKX Wallet included, offer features that pay gas in another token on selected networks; when that is not available, top up the gas coin first.
Receiving a swap payout
On KOT.CASH choose the payout coin and network in the widget, then paste the address from the matching OKX Wallet row: USDT TRC20 โ the T-address, USDT on Arbitrum or BEP20 โ the 0x address, SOL โ the Solana address, BTC โ a bc1 address. The address field validates the format against the chosen network, so a mismatch is caught before the order is created. The order page shows the payout transaction hash; if you are not sure which explorer to open, the transaction hash identifier suggests one by the hash format.
Watch-only and hardware accounts
OKX Wallet can add a watch-only address to follow a balance without holding keys, and it can connect some hardware wallets so that signing happens on the device. A watch-only entry looks like any other wallet in the list; make sure you do not hand out its address thinking you can spend from it in the app. With a hardware wallet connected, confirm receive addresses on the device screen when the app offers it.
Common pitfalls
- Copying the 0x address of the wallet for a Tron payout โ Tron needs the T-address.
- Assuming an exchange "OKX" deposit address and the wallet address are interchangeable โ one is custodial with possible memo, the other is self-custody.
- Sui and Aptos addresses are 0x with 64 hex characters. They are not EVM addresses and must not receive EVM tokens.
- Restoring the phrase in a wallet that uses a different Bitcoin path shows an empty BTC balance; try the other address type before panicking.
FAQ
Why does OKX Wallet show different USDT addresses?
USDT exists on many networks. Each network family has its own address format: 0x for EVM, Tโฆ for Tron, Base58 for Solana, UQ/EQ for TON.
Is my OKX Wallet the same as my OKX exchange account?
No. The wallet is self-custody with your own phrase; the exchange account is custodial. Both live in the same app.
Do I need a memo to receive into OKX Wallet?
No. Memos are for shared exchange deposit addresses, not personal wallets.
Which Bitcoin address should I use in OKX Wallet?
Native SegWit (bc1q) or Taproot (bc1p) are both widely accepted. Legacy formats are only for old senders.
Can I restore OKX Wallet in another wallet?
Usually yes with the same BIP39 phrase, but check that the first addresses match before sending funds.
