How to Swap ADA to SUI: Cardano to Sui Without an Account

To swap ADA to SUI, you create an ADA → SUI order in the swap widget, paste a Sui address from your wallet, send ADA from Cardano and receive SUI after about 15 Cardano blocks. On 21 October 2026 the minimum was 135.53 ADA (about $30) and the SUI payout fee was 0.02 SUI — two cents. The part that most often goes wrong is the address, because a Sui address looks like an Ethereum address that is twice as long.

Sui address versus Ethereum address

A Sui address is 0x followed by 64 hexadecimal characters: 32 bytes, 66 characters in total. An Ethereum or other EVM address is 0x plus 40 characters. Both start the same way, and wallets that support many chains, such as Phantom, show both side by side. The provider validates the format, but it is still on you to pick the right one.

A quick check: count the characters, or look at whether the address you copied came from the Sui section of the wallet. Slush (formerly the Sui Wallet from Mysten Labs) only shows Sui addresses. In Phantom, switch the account view to Sui before copying.

How much SUI you get

With ADA around $0.22 and SUI around $1.01, 1,000 ADA is about 218 SUI before fees and the minimum of 135.53 ADA about 29.5 SUI. Deduct 1% for the float rate (1.5% if you fix the rate) and the 0.02 SUI payout fee. The widget shows the net figure.

Sending ADA

1. Enter the ADA amount in the widget and check the quote and minimum.
2. Paste your Sui address (66 characters) and create the order.
3. Send ADA from your Cardano wallet to the addr1… deposit address. Send ADA only; leave native tokens in your wallet.
4. If you withdraw from an exchange, choose the Cardano network and check that the arriving amount matches the order after the exchange's fee.
5. The provider waits for 15 confirmations, roughly five minutes at Cardano's 20-second average block time.
6. SUI is sent; Sui confirms transactions in under a second, so the coins appear in your wallet almost as soon as the payout is broadcast.

The provider's typical processing time for ADA routes was 8–10 minutes in total. If the Cardano transaction shows as confirmed in a Cardano explorer and the order page still says waiting after twenty minutes, contact support with the order link and the transaction hash.

After the swap: gas on Sui

Every Sui transaction pays gas in SUI. Gas on Sui consists of computation and storage; storage fees are partly refunded when you delete objects later, which is why the fee you see can be slightly negative or tiny on some actions. For a simple transfer you are looking at a fraction of a cent. Keep at least a few tenths of a SUI after the swap so you are never stuck with tokens you cannot move.

Sui also has no account activation step or minimum balance: an address exists as soon as it receives something. That is different from XRP or Stellar, where a new account needs a reserve before it can exist.

Checklist before you press Send

• The payout address has 66 characters and came from the Sui view of your wallet.
• You are sending ADA from Cardano, not a wrapped ADA token from another chain.
• The amount is above the minimum shown in the widget, after any exchange withdrawal fee.
• The order countdown has time left.

Why not just use an exchange?

Most centralised exchanges do not list an ADA/SUI market. The route there is two trades: sell ADA for USDT, then buy SUI with USDT, each with its own trading fee and spread, followed by a SUI withdrawal fee and usually an account with identity checks. For small and medium amounts a single swap with a 1% service fee and a 0.02 SUI payout is often the cheaper path; for large amounts on an exchange where you already have low fees, the two trades can win. There is also a custody difference. With a swap, your coins are never parked on someone else's account between two trades: ADA leaves your wallet, SUI arrives at your address. On an exchange you hold a balance there while your orders fill and until the withdrawal is processed, which for some exchanges includes a manual review on first withdrawals.
