How to Swap Cardano (ADA): To USDC, TRX, ETH or XTZ

Swapping ADA to USDC, TRX, ETH, Tezos or USDT without an exchange: the 1 ADA minimum-UTXO rule, delegation, confirmations, address formats and fees.

Flow of an ADA swap: ADA sent from your wallet with the minimum-UTXO rule, 15 to 70 Cardano blocks, then USDT or USDC, TRX or ETH, or XTZ on their own chains.
Every ADA swap starts the same way; the destination chain decides the address format. Open the full-size diagram

Cardano has no native bridge to Ethereum, TRON, Tezos or Solana, so the simplest way to move from ADA into another coin is a direct swap: send ADA from Eternl, Lace, Yoroi, Vespr or a Ledger, receive the other coin at your address on its own chain. KOT.CASH has pages for ADA to USDT, ADA to USDC, ADA to TRX, ADA to ETH and ADA to XTZ, and the widget accepts many more destinations. The Cardano side works the same for all of them; the destination side is where the details differ.

The Cardano side: three things to know

  • Minimum UTXO. Every Cardano output must carry a minimum amount of ADA, roughly 1 ADA for a plain output and more if native tokens ride along. That is why "send max" with tokens in the wallet can fail and why tiny swaps are not possible. Send slightly less than your full balance.
  • Delegation does not lock. Delegated ADA stays in your wallet and can be sent at any time. You can swap part of it and keep the rest delegated; rewards follow the stake key.
  • Confirmations. The provider waits for 15โ€“70 Cardano blocks. At about 20 seconds per block that is roughly 5โ€“25 minutes, the longest part of most ADA swaps.

Addresses start with addr1 (Shelley era). Old Byron addresses (Ae2โ€ฆ, DdzFFโ€ฆ) still work on-chain, but wallets no longer create them. Cardano deposits do not use a memo.

Choosing the destination

Where ADA can go and what to check on the other side

USDTTRON, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain or SolanaTโ€ฆ / 0xโ€ฆ / base58Pick the network by where USDT goes next
USDCEthereum or Solana0xโ€ฆ / base58Gas on Ethereum is higher for later transfers
TRXTRONTโ€ฆOften bought as fuel for USDT-TRC20

XTZTezostz1โ€ฆ / tz2โ€ฆ / tz3โ€ฆDo not use a KT1 contract address

ADA to USDT and USDC: leaving volatility

Most ADA swaps are into stablecoins. The choice between USDT and USDC is about where the money goes next: many P2P desks and exchanges expect USDT on TRON; DeFi on Ethereum and Solana uses both. On the network side, Solana and BNB Smart Chain are the cheapest to move later, TRON costs several TRX per transfer, Ethereum the most. At about $0.22 per ADA, 1,000 ADA is about $218, or about 216 USDT after a 1% fee โ€” check the live table on the pair page.

ADA to TRX: getting fuel

If you hold Cardano but get paid in USDT-TRC20, you need TRX to move that USDT: roughly 6.4 TRX per transfer to an address that already holds USDT, about 13 TRX to a new one, at current network parameters. A small ADA to TRX swap covers dozens of transfers. The USDT TRC20 fee calculator shows how many you need.

ADA to ETH and ADA to XTZ: chain rotation

ADA to ETH delivers native ETH on Ethereum mainnet; the same 0x address exists on Arbitrum or Base, so switch your wallet to Ethereum to see it. ADA to XTZ moves between two liquid proof-of-stake chains: on Tezos, delegated tez stays spendable just like delegated ADA, while explicitly staked tez has an unstaking delay. The first transfer to an empty Tezos address burns a small storage fee, paid by the payout transaction.

Minimum and fees for ADA swaps

In the provider's quotes on 20 October 2026, the minimum for swapping ADA was 137.54 ADA โ€” about $30 โ€” for every destination we checked. The payout fee is what differs: 1.3 USDT for USDT on TRON, 0.5 USDT for USDT on Solana, 1 TRX for TRX, 0.01 XTZ for Tezos. On a $100 swap, receiving USDT on Solana instead of TRON saves about 0.8% on the payout alone.

Sending ADA costs about 0.17โ€“0.2 ADA in network fees for a simple transaction, shown by the wallet before you sign. If you send from an exchange, its ADA withdrawal fee is deducted from the amount you type. The service fee is 1% on the float rate or 1.5% fixed, included in the quote.

Cardano's 15โ€“70 confirmations take a while, so for larger amounts in a volatile market the fixed rate can be worth the extra 0.5%: it locks the payout for the payment window instead of letting it follow the price while your ADA confirms.

Step by step for any ADA swap

  1. Open the pair page or the widget, choose ADA and the destination coin and network, and enter the amount.
  2. Paste your address on the destination chain and compare the first and last characters. The address validator checks the format.
  3. Create the order and send exactly the shown ADA amount from your Cardano wallet.
  4. Wait for 15โ€“70 Cardano confirmations; the order page shows the counter.
  5. The destination coin is sent automatically; the hash appears on the order page.

Buying ADA back is the same in reverse: USDT to ADA pays native ADA to your addr1 address. Standard swaps on KOT.CASH need no documents; the liquidity provider runs AML checks and may, in some cases, ask about the source of funds before completing an order.

FAQ

Can I swap ADA that is delegated to a stake pool?

Yes. Delegation does not lock ADA; you can send it at any time.

Why can't I send my whole ADA balance?

Cardano outputs need a minimum amount of ADA, especially when tokens are attached. Send slightly less.

How long does an ADA swap take?

Usually 10โ€“30 minutes; 15โ€“70 Cardano confirmations at about 20 seconds each are the longest part.

Is there a bridge from Cardano to Ethereum?

Not a native one. A swap sends ADA and pays native ETH on Ethereum mainnet in one order.

Do I need a memo for ADA?

No. Cardano deposits are identified by address.
