Sui Wallet Address: 64-Hex 0x Format, Gas and Objects

What a Sui address looks like, why it is not an EVM address despite the 0x, where to find it in Slush or Phantom, how gas and storage rebates work on Sui.

Comparison of a Sui address (0x plus 64 hex, coin objects, gas in SUI with rebate) and an EVM address (0x plus 40 hex, account state, gas in ETH or BNB).
A Sui address is twice as long as an EVM address and belongs to a different network. Open the full-size diagram

A Sui address is 0x followed by 64 hexadecimal characters โ€” 32 bytes, twice the length of an Ethereum address. You find it on the Receive screen of Slush (the wallet formerly called Sui Wallet), Phantom, Suiet, Nightly or another Sui wallet. Despite the 0x prefix it is not an EVM address: tokens on Ethereum, BNB Chain or Arbitrum cannot be sent to it, and a Sui address pasted into an EVM form is rejected by length.

Getting the address

  1. Open Slush (browser extension or mobile app) or your Sui wallet of choice.
  2. The account card shows a shortened address such as 0x7a3fโ€ฆe91c; tap it to copy the full 66-character string (0x + 64).
  3. In Phantom, open Receive and copy the address in the Sui row โ€” not the Ethereum, Base or Solana rows.
  4. If the wallet uses zkLogin (signing in with a Google or other account), the address is derived from that login; back up what the wallet tells you to back up for recovery.

Coins are objects

Sui stores everything, including balances, as objects with their own IDs. Your SUI balance may consist of several coin objects; wallets merge and split them automatically when you send. Object IDs also look like 0x + 64 hex, so do not confuse an object ID or a package ID with your address: the address is the owner, the objects are what it owns. Explorers such as Suiscan and SuiVision show both.

Gas and the storage rebate

Every transaction pays gas in SUI. The fee has two parts: computation, priced by a reference gas price that validators set each epoch, and storage, paid for the bytes of objects your transaction creates. When an object is later deleted or shrunk, most of its storage fee is refunded as a storage rebate. That is why a transaction can show a negative net storage cost. For ordinary transfers the total is a fraction of a cent to a few cents; keep a small SUI balance for gas even if you mainly hold USDC on Sui.

Deposits, confirmations and swaps

Sui finalises transactions in well under a second, and the swap provider credits SUI deposits after a single confirmation. On 21 October 2026 the provider's minimum for SUI to USDT TRC20 was about 30 SUI, and a payout network fee applies on the receiving side. Sui does not use memos: for a SUI payout paste your 0x + 64 address, for a SUI deposit send from the wallet to the address shown on the order page. The network fee comparison shows how SUI's costs compare with other chains.

Address poisoning on Sui

Long hex addresses are hard to compare by eye, and scammers exploit that by sending dust from addresses that share the first and last characters with one you use. Never copy a recipient from your transaction history; use the address book or the original source, and compare a block in the middle as well as the ends. The address poisoning checker highlights every differing character between two addresses.

Recovery phrases and other wallets

Sui wallets that use a seed phrase follow BIP39 with a Sui-specific derivation path for Ed25519 keys, so importing the phrase into another Sui wallet normally gives the same address. Importing a Sui phrase into an EVM wallet does not give you a usable Sui address โ€” it derives an unrelated 0x + 40 Ethereum account. Keep the phrase backed up offline like any other wallet secret.

FAQ

Is a Sui address the same as an Ethereum address?

No. Sui addresses have 64 hex characters after 0x, Ethereum addresses 40. They belong to different networks and cannot receive each other's tokens.

What happened to Sui Wallet?

The Mysten Labs wallet was renamed Slush in 2025. Existing accounts carried over.

Do I need a memo for SUI?

No. Sui deposits are identified by address.

Why did I get SUI back after a transaction?

That is the storage rebate: deleting or shrinking objects refunds most of their storage fee.

How many confirmations does a SUI deposit need?

The swap provider credits SUI after one confirmation; Sui finalises in under a second.
