Converting Dogecoin to Bitcoin takes one order: you send native DOGE from any Dogecoin wallet and receive BTC at your own Bitcoin address. On the DOGE to BTC page the widget quotes the BTC amount first, and the order runs without an account. Most of the time is spent on two waits โ Dogecoin confirmations on the way in and one Bitcoin block on the way out โ so this guide explains both, plus the amounts, the fees and the few mistakes that actually happen.
How much BTC you get for DOGE
Dogecoin is cheap per coin, so people think in round numbers: 1,000 DOGE, 10,000 DOGE. At about $0.08 per DOGE and $82,000 per BTC, 1,000 DOGE is about $80, or roughly 0.00098 BTC; 10,000 DOGE is about 0.0098 BTC. A single DOGE is about 0.000001 BTC, around 98 satoshis. Prices move constantly, so check the live table on the pair page or the crypto converter before you decide.
| You send | โ BTC at market | โ satoshis |
|---|---|---|
| 100 DOGE | 0.0000976 BTC | 9,760 |
| 1,000 DOGE | 0.000976 BTC | 97,600 |
| 5,000 DOGE | 0.00488 BTC | 488,000 |
| 10,000 DOGE | 0.00976 BTC | 976,000 |
The float rate includes a 1% service fee, the fixed rate 1.5%, and the BTC payout pays its own network fee. The widget's figure already includes them. Very small amounts โ a few dozen DOGE โ can fall below the current minimum, because the Bitcoin network fee would eat too much of the payout.
Why Dogecoin needs more confirmations than Bitcoin
Dogecoin produces a block about once a minute, ten times as often as Bitcoin. Each block therefore carries less proof-of-work, and services that pay out irreversibly ask for more of them. The liquidity provider behind KOT.CASH waits for 12 Dogecoin confirmations, and up to 36 in some cases. At one minute per block that is usually 12โ15 minutes; the order page shows the live counter.
Bitcoin, by contrast, needs 1โ2 confirmations from the provider when BTC is the deposit; when BTC is the payout, the swap is complete once the payout transaction is broadcast, and your wallet counts its own confirmations from there.
Step by step
- Open the DOGE to BTC swap, enter the DOGE amount and look at the BTC you will receive and the minimum.
- Paste a Bitcoin address from your wallet: bc1qโฆ, bc1pโฆ, 3โฆ or 1โฆ. Compare the first and last characters after pasting.
- Create the order and send exactly the shown DOGE amount to the deposit address. Dogecoin deposits do not use a memo.
- If you send from an exchange, choose the Dogecoin network (not BEP20 DOGE) and check that the amount after its withdrawal fee equals the order amount.
- Wait for 12 or more Dogecoin confirmations โ about 12โ15 minutes in normal conditions.
- BTC is sent automatically. The order page shows the Bitcoin transaction hash; open it in a block explorer to follow the first confirmation.
Fees on both sides
Sending DOGE costs little: Dogecoin wallets typically charge a fraction of a DOGE per transaction. The Bitcoin payout fee depends on the mempool and is part of the quote. If you later move the BTC from your wallet, the fee depends on how many inputs your wallet spends and on the address type; the Bitcoin fee calculator estimates it in satoshis and dollars.
If you would rather keep dollars than Bitcoin, the DOGE to USDT pair pays a stablecoin on TRON, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain or Solana, and the reverse direction, USDT to DOGE, is there when you want to buy back.
Mistakes to avoid
- Sending BEP20 DOGE. Some exchanges offer DOGE on BNB Smart Chain. That is a token on another chain, not native Dogecoin, and it will not reach a Dogecoin deposit address.
- A short exchange withdrawal. Exchanges deduct their fee from the amount you type. On a float order a smaller deposit is recalculated, so you get less BTC than quoted; below the minimum the order fails instead of paying out.
- Two payments to one order. If your first transaction is slow, do not send again. Check it in a Dogecoin explorer; a second payment is not merged into the first order.
- Sending to an expired order. An unpaid order expires after about an hour. Always create a new one.
- Typing the Bitcoin address. Copy it from the wallet and validate the format with the address validator.
After the swap: keeping the BTC
Once the BTC is in your wallet, it is yours alone โ nothing about the swap ties it to KOT.CASH. A few habits make it easier to use later. Receive to a fresh address each time; most wallets generate one automatically. If you plan to move the BTC to cold storage, do it while mempool fees are low, and avoid accumulating dozens of tiny payments in one wallet: each one becomes a separate input that you pay for when you spend. Swapping 10,000 DOGE once gives you one Bitcoin output; swapping 100 DOGE a hundred times gives you a hundred.
Write down the order link and the Bitcoin transaction hash if you need records for accounting. In many countries a crypto-to-crypto swap counts as a disposal for tax purposes, and the hash, date and amounts are what an accountant asks for.
DOGE to BTC on an exchange account
Most exchanges list DOGE/USDT and BTC/USDT but not always DOGE/BTC, so the exchange route is often two trades plus a withdrawal: deposit DOGE, sell for USDT, buy BTC, withdraw BTC. Each trade has a fee and a spread, and the withdrawal fee is flat. For small amounts that route is usually more expensive than a direct swap; for large amounts on a low-fee tier it can be cheaper. Run both with your own numbers in the swap fee calculator.
Standard swaps on KOT.CASH do not ask for documents. The liquidity provider performs AML checks and can, in some cases, request information about the source of funds before completing an order.
FAQ
How much is 1,000 DOGE in BTC?
