Minimum Sensible Transfer Amount Calculator

Network fees are mostly flat, so they hit small transfers hard: a $1.30 USDT TRC20 fee is 13% of $10 and 0.13% of $1,000. Tell the calculator the fee for one transfer and the largest share of the amount you are willing to lose to it, and it returns the minimum amount that stays within that limit โ€” for your network and for a table of common ones you can edit.

A flat fee hurts small transfers: $1.30 is 13% of $10 but 0.13% of $1,000. Also check the minimum the receiving side accepts: deposits below an exchange's or a swap's minimum may not be credited automatically. On KOT.CASH the swap widget shows the pair's current minimum before you create an order.

The calculation

If a transfer costs a flat fee F and you accept at most a share L of the amount, the smallest sensible amount is F รท L. With a 1% limit, a $1.30 fee means sending at least $130; on BNB Smart Chain, at around $0.05, $5 already passes. Platforms also have their own minimums for withdrawals and deposits; the effective minimum is the larger of the two.

minimum = max(fee รท max fee share, platform minimum) fee share = fee รท amount, received = amount โˆ’ fee

Typical fees that drive the minimum

  • USDT on TRON: the fee depends on energy; without staked or rented energy a transfer burns TRX worth roughly $1โ€“3, more if the recipient has never held USDT.
  • USDT on Ethereum: gas for a token transfer is around 45,000โ€“65,000 units; the dollar cost moves with the gas price.
  • USDT on BNB Smart Chain, Solana and many layer-2 networks: cents or less.
  • Bitcoin: priced per virtual byte, so the fee depends on how many inputs your wallet spends, not on the amount.
  • Exchange withdrawals: a fixed fee per network set by the exchange, often higher than the raw network cost.

The defaults in the table are rough โ€” replace them with what your wallet or exchange shows today.

Minimums on the receiving side

A deposit below a service's minimum may not be credited automatically: exchanges often list a minimum deposit per network, and swap services have a minimum per pair that depends on current network costs. On KOT.CASH the widget shows the pair's minimum before you create an order; for common pairs it ranges from a few dollars to a few tens of dollars' worth of the sent coin, depending on the networks involved. Sending less than the order amount or below the minimum leads to a manual case, so check before you send.

Frequently asked questions

+What fee share is reasonable?

Many people use 1% for regular transfers and accept 2โ€“5% for occasional small ones. The calculator lets you set your own limit.

+Why is my exchange's withdrawal fee higher than the network fee?

Exchanges set a flat fee per network that covers their costs and fee spikes. Compare networks: the same USDT can cost $1 on one and $0.10 on another.

+Is it cheaper to send once a month than every week?

With flat fees, yes: four transfers cost four fees. Batch payments when the timing allows.

+Does the fee depend on the amount?

Network fees usually do not. Service fees often do โ€” swap fees are a percentage, which is why small swaps pay mostly the flat network part.

+What is KOT.CASH's minimum?

It depends on the pair and current network fees; the widget shows it live, along with the amount you will receive.
