How to Convert SHIB to USDT: Shiba Inu (ERC20) Guide

Shiba Inu is an ERC20 token, so converting SHIB to USDT means sending a token transfer on Ethereum — and that needs a little ETH in the same wallet for gas. With ETH in place, the swap is one order: send SHIB to the deposit address on the SHIB to USDT page and receive USDT on TRON, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain or Solana. The ETH you need before you start

Every ERC20 transfer pays gas in ETH. A token transfer uses roughly 50,000–65,000 gas, about three times a plain ETH transfer. What that costs in dollars depends on the gas price at the moment: in a quiet hour a fraction of a dollar, in a busy hour several dollars. The gas fee calculator turns gas and gwei into ETH and USD. If the wallet holds SHIB but no ETH, the transfer simply cannot be sent — buy or receive a small amount of ETH first.

This is also why tiny SHIB amounts are rarely worth swapping on Ethereum: if the position is worth $5 and gas is $2, you lose 40% before any service fee. The widget's minimum reflects network costs, but your own sending gas is on top of it.

Counting the zeros

SHIB has a very large supply, so prices have many decimals and amounts have many zeros. Two practical rules: copy the amount from the order page instead of typing it, and check the dollar value the widget shows next to the amount. At a price around $0.000005, 10,000,000 SHIB is about $50 and 100,000,000 SHIB about $500 — but check the live table on the pair page, because SHIB moves fast.

ERC20, BEP20 or Shibarium SHIB?

• ERC20 SHIB on Ethereum is the original token and the default deposit network for this pair.
• BEP20 SHIB on BNB Smart Chain exists and the provider lists it as a separate network; if you hold it, pick that network in the widget so the deposit address matches.
• SHIB on Shibarium is a bridged representation on Shiba Inu's own layer-2 and is not accepted here. Bridge it back to Ethereum first.

Exchanges usually offer SHIB withdrawals on Ethereum and sometimes BSC. Choose the network that matches the deposit network of your order.

Step by step

1. Check that the wallet has ETH for gas (or BNB, if you send BEP20 SHIB).
2. Open SHIB to USDT, enter the amount and pick the USDT network you want to receive on.
3. Paste a USDT address for that network and compare the first and last characters.
4. Create the order, copy the SHIB amount from the order page and send it from the matching network.
5. The provider waits for 6–64 Ethereum confirmations (60 on BSC). At 12 seconds per Ethereum block, that is between about one minute and thirteen minutes.
6. USDT is paid automatically; the hash appears on the order page.

Checking the SHIB transfer on Etherscan

After you send, copy the transaction hash from MetaMask or your exchange and open it on etherscan.io. A token transfer shows 0 ETH in the Value field; the SHIB amount is listed under ERC-20 Tokens Transferred. Check three things there: the status says Success, the "To" address of the token transfer is the deposit address from your order, and the SHIB amount matches. The confirmations counter shows how far along the 6–64 block requirement you are.

If the status is Pending for a long time, the gas price was too low for current demand; MetaMask's Speed up button resends the same transaction with higher gas. If the status is Failed, no SHIB moved — the gas was still spent — and you can send again to the same order while it is open.

Minimums depend on the payout network. In the 20 October 2026 quote, SHIB to USDT on TRON required at least 1,400,000 SHIB with a 1.3 USDT payout fee, while SHIB to USDT on BNB Smart Chain required 450,000 SHIB with a 0.15 USDT fee. For small SHIB positions BEP20 is the cheaper destination.

Which USDT network to choose

Most people leaving SHIB want dollars they can move cheaply. Solana or BNB Smart Chain are the cheapest to move later, TRON is what many exchanges and P2P desks expect, Ethereum suits DeFi and hardware wallets but costs the most per transfer. Swap or sell on an exchange?
