To convert ETH to BTC, open the ETH to BTC page, paste a Bitcoin address and send ETH from the network it sits on. ETH exists on Ethereum mainnet and on several layer 2 networks, and the provider accepts it from many of them as separate deposit options. On 21 October 2026, at ETH around $2,444 and BTC around $82,600, 1 ETH was worth about 0.0296 BTC before fees, and the Bitcoin payout fee was 0.000057 BTC (about $4.70) whichever network you sent from.
Which ETH you are sending
| Send ETH on | Minimum | Deposit confirmations | โ wait for confirmations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ethereum mainnet | 0.0039 ETH (โ $9.5) | 6 | โ 1.2 min (12-second blocks) |
| Arbitrum One | 0.011 ETH (โ $27) | 120 | โ 30 s (blocks every โ 0.25 s) |
| Base | 0.0123 ETH (โ $30) | 30 | โ 1 min (2-second blocks) |
The provider also lists ETH on Optimism, zkSync Era, Linea, Mantle and BNB Chain (as a pegged BEP20 token). Each is a separate option in the widget. The deposit address will look like the same 0x address on every EVM network, so the risk is sending on one network while the order expects another. Select the network in the widget first, then set your wallet to the same network before you press Send.
Why the payout fee shapes your amount
The 0.000057 BTC payout cost is fixed. At 0.01 ETH (about $24) it is about 19% of the swap; at 0.1 ETH about 2%; at 1 ETH 0.2%. The service fee (1% float, 1.5% fixed) is proportional. If you plan to swap a small amount of ETH into bitcoin repeatedly, one bigger swap saves most of the fixed cost.
Gas on the sending side
Sending ETH on Ethereum mainnet uses 21,000 gas for a plain transfer from a normal wallet. At 5 gwei that is 0.000105 ETH, about $0.26; at 30 gwei, $1.54. On Arbitrum and Base the same transfer typically costs well under a cent. Do not try to send your entire balance with the exact amount shown in the order unless your wallet has a 'max' option that subtracts gas: leave enough ETH for the fee. The gas fee calculator converts gwei into dollars.
Smart-contract wallets and exchanges
- Regular wallets (MetaMask, Rabby, Trust Wallet, Ledger, Trezor): ETH arrives as a normal transfer and the deposit is detected without issues.
- Smart-contract wallets (Safe multisig, some account-abstraction wallets): ETH is sent by a contract as an internal transaction. Many deposit systems handle internal transfers, but not all. If you use a Safe, test with a small amount or send from a regular wallet.
- Exchanges: withdraw ETH on the network you chose in the widget. Exchanges often label mainnet as 'ERC20' and L2s by name. The arriving amount after the withdrawal fee must match the order.
Step by step
- Open the pair page and choose the ETH network you will send from.
- Enter the amount and check the BTC you will receive. Compare float and fixed.
- Paste a Bitcoin address (bc1qโฆ, bc1pโฆ, 3โฆ or 1โฆ) and create the order.
- Switch your wallet to the same network and send the exact ETH amount to the deposit address.
- After the confirmations above, the swap is processed โ the provider quoted 1โ2 minutes for mainnet and 2โ4 minutes for L2 routes.
- BTC is sent; your wallet sees it as confirmed after one Bitcoin block, about 10 minutes on average.
ETH to BTC versus wrapped bitcoin
Another way to 'hold bitcoin' on Ethereum is WBTC or similar wrapped tokens: you stay on Ethereum and hold a token backed by BTC in custody. That is a different asset with custodian risk, and it cannot be sent to a Bitcoin address. This swap pays out native bitcoin on the Bitcoin network, which is what you want for a hardware wallet, a Bitcoin-only wallet or a payment in BTC.
What 'confirmations' mean on a layer 2
On Arbitrum and Base, blocks are produced by a sequencer and are final on the L2 almost immediately; the rollup then posts data to Ethereum for its own security. The provider's 120 Arbitrum confirmations and 30 Base confirmations are counted in L2 blocks, so they pass quickly โ the L1 settlement in the background does not hold up your swap. That is why an L2 deposit can be credited faster than a mainnet one despite the larger number.
If your ETH sits on an exchange, compare its withdrawal fee per network before choosing: exchanges often charge more for mainnet withdrawals than for Arbitrum or Base. Withdrawing on the cheaper network and selecting the same network in the widget saves that difference.
FAQ
How much BTC is 1 ETH?
About 0.0296 BTC at ETH โ $2,444 and BTC โ $82,600, before fees. The pair page shows the live rate.
Can I send ETH from Arbitrum or Base?
Yes. Choose that network in the widget first. Minimums on 21.10.2026 were 0.011 ETH on Arbitrum and 0.0123 ETH on Base.
How many confirmations does an ETH deposit need?
6 on Ethereum mainnet, 120 on Arbitrum and 30 on Base โ about a minute in each case.
Can I send from a Safe multisig?
Internal transfers from contract wallets may not be detected by every deposit system. Test with a small amount or send from a regular wallet.
Is the BTC fee the same from every network?
Yes, the Bitcoin payout fee (0.000057 BTC on 21.10.2026) depends on the Bitcoin side only.
