How to Buy Bitcoin Cash with USDT: Address Formats First

To buy Bitcoin Cash with USDT, create a USDT → BCH order, send USDT on the network you chose (TRC20 is the usual one) and receive BCH at an address from a Bitcoin Cash wallet. There is no separate pair page for it, but the swap widget handles the route. At the time of writing the minimum was about 1.1 USDT on TRC20 and the BCH payout fee was only 0.001 BCH (about $0.28). The only real risk in this swap is the receive address, so that comes first.

Three BCH address formats, one of them looks like Bitcoin

Bitcoin Cash split from Bitcoin on 1 August 2017 and kept Bitcoin's original address types. A BCH legacy address starts with 1 or 3, exactly like a Bitcoin address, and the two cannot be told apart by looking. To avoid mix-ups, BCH introduced the CashAddr format in 2018: addresses start with bitcoincash:q (single key) or bitcoincash:p (script), and the prefix is often hidden in wallets, leaving q… or p….

Two practical rules follow. Never paste a bc1 address for a BCH payout: Bitcoin Cash does not use SegWit, and a bc1 string is not a BCH address. And never take a 1… address from a Bitcoin wallet assuming it works for BCH: the coins would go to a key that only your Bitcoin wallet knows about, and getting them back means importing that key into BCH software. Take the address from the Receive screen of a wallet that lists Bitcoin Cash, such as Electron Cash, Cashonize, Exodus or a hardware wallet's BCH account.

What you get for your USDT

With BCH around $277, 100 USDT buys about 0.36 BCH before fees and 1,000 USDT about 3.6 BCH. Subtract 1% for the float rate (1.5% fixed) and the 0.001 BCH payout fee; the widget does that for you and shows the final amount. Because the payout fee is so small, this route stays efficient even for $20–50, unlike swaps that pay out on Bitcoin itself.

Step by step

1. Open the swap widget, choose USDT on the network you hold (TRC20, BEP20, ERC20 or another listed one) and BCH as the coin to receive.
2. Enter the amount and check the minimum. TRC20 and BEP20 minimums were around 1 USDT on 21.10.2026; other networks may differ.
3. Paste your BCH address (CashAddr preferred). The address validator helps tell formats apart.
4. Send USDT from the same network you selected. On TRON you need TRX for energy, on BNB Chain a little BNB for gas.
5. The provider credits USDT after 20 confirmations on TRON (about a minute) or 60 on BNB Chain.
6. BCH is sent to your address; the order page shows the transaction id.

How long it takes

The USDT side is quick. The BCH payout then needs blocks: Bitcoin Cash targets a 10-minute block like Bitcoin. Your wallet will show the coins immediately as unconfirmed and as confirmed after the first block. If you plan to deposit the BCH to an exchange right away, expect that exchange to wait for its own number of confirmations, often 6 or more — about an hour.

The provider itself waits for 6 confirmations when receiving BCH, which is why the reverse direction (BCH to something) takes longer. For the USDT → BCH direction that wait does not apply to you.

Before you send

• Your wallet really is a BCH wallet, not a BTC wallet that happens to show a 1… address.
• The USDT network in the widget is the one your wallet or exchange will send from.
• An exchange withdrawal arrives in full: exchanges subtract their fee from the amount you type.
• You will be back before the order countdown ends.

Selling the BCH back later

The reverse route works the same way but slower on the deposit side. When the provider receives BCH it waits for 6 confirmations — about an hour at a 10-minute block target — and quoted 25–30 minutes of processing for BCH routes. At the time of writing the minimum for BCH → USDT on TRC20 was 0.025 BCH (about $7) with a 1.3 USDT payout fee.
