You entered the exact order amount on an exchange, but the exchange deducted its withdrawal fee and the order received less.
Why it happens
Many exchanges subtract the withdrawal fee from the amount you type. That fee is the exchange's own tariff, separate from the swap fee (1% floating, 1.5% fixed) and the payout network fee. See swap fees explained.
If you already underpaid
- Check the order status: on a floating rate a small shortfall is often recalculated automatically.
- Do not blindly send the difference — a second transfer may not be combined.
- If the amount fell below the minimum or the order is stuck, contact support with the order number, hash, network and received amount. Processing or a refund depends on the provider and is not guaranteed.
Sending the right amount
Use the "recipient receives" field, or add the withdrawal fee yourself. The cleanest way is to withdraw to your own wallet first and pay the order from there. Create a BTC to ETH order on the BTC → ETH page.
A simple formula
If the order expects X and the exchange fee F is deducted from the amount you type, enter X + F, or make the "recipient receives" field show X. Fees differ by exchange and network, so read them on the withdrawal screen at the time of sending.
Checklist: the "recipient receives" field equals the order amount, the network matches the order, and there is enough time left for the exchange to process the withdrawal. If that exchange is slow, withdraw to your own wallet first.
