Which reference are you looking at?
| Reference | What it identifies | Useful next check |
|---|---|---|
| Sender withdrawal number | The request recorded inside the sending service | Open that request and look for a blockchain transaction reference |
| Dogecoin transaction identifier | The DOGE transaction record | Check its destination and the amount paid to the exchange |
| Exchange reference | The conversion you are trying to fund | Compare the recorded funding details and current status |
| Ethereum payout reference | The separate ETH payment, when issued | Inspect the receiving destination on the selected Ethereum network |
Locate the payment before explaining the delay
- Start inside the sender’s withdrawal details
If DOGE was sent from a custodial service, open the specific withdrawal request rather than the overall account activity. Read whether a blockchain reference has been supplied. A balance reduction or a request marked as submitted is not enough information to identify the payment received by the exchange.
- Inspect the DOGE record you can identify
Dogecoin Core documentation describes querying transactions by their identifier. A wallet or explorer can provide a more convenient view of the corresponding record. Compare the destination and payment amount with the current deposit instruction; finding a transaction is only useful if it is the one that actually funds your exchange.
- Keep uncertainty attached to the correct stage
If the sender has not supplied an identifiable transaction, ask that service about the withdrawal. If the transaction can be located but the exchange has not recognized the deposit, provide the exchange reference and the DOGE payment details to exchange support. This distinguishes two questions instead of blaming the Ethereum receiving wallet for both.
One unsuccessful lookup does not prove the coins disappeared
Before interpreting an empty search result, check that you copied the blockchain identifier rather than a withdrawal number and that the lookup concerns Dogecoin. The official Core documentation also notes that full transaction-query capability depends on the node’s indexing setup. A particular lookup service can have a different view or limitation from the sender’s record.
Keep the original details and clarify any inconsistency with the service responsible for that stage. Do not create a replacement DOGE payment solely because a single search returned no result. Once the exchange provides an ETH payout record, that record belongs to the receiving side and must be checked separately. A DOGE transaction identifier is not expected to identify an Ethereum transaction.
Finding the DOGE payment behind a withdrawal
- Can I send support only a screenshot showing that my DOGE balance fell?
- The screenshot provides context but may not identify a specific blockchain payment. Include the exchange reference, the sender’s withdrawal reference if applicable and the DOGE transaction identifier when supplied. Keep unrelated account balances or personal data out of the material unless support needs them to investigate.
- Does a DOGE transaction reference mean the ETH payout has already been sent?
- It identifies the outgoing funding transaction. The conversion status and the Ethereum payout record answer later questions. Follow the exchange status for the operation you funded and inspect the separate ETH reference when it exists, rather than expecting one identifier to describe both networks.
