Select ADA rather than the combined portfolio value
- Inspect the asset next to the amount
- A Cardano wallet can contain ADA and custom tokens. The value of the whole portfolio does not state how much ADA it can send. Open the ADA payment preview and inspect the denomination beside the amount. A custom token name, even one with a familiar currency symbol, does not satisfy an instruction asking for ADA.
- Inspect what leaves the wallet
- Cardano supports outputs containing several assets. Review the recipient’s output, not only the total value spent by the transaction. An ADA-to-DOGE order does not establish acceptance of additional tokens or collectibles. If the preview attaches an unrelated asset to the deposit, resolve the wallet selection before signing rather than expecting the exchange to return it automatically.
- Leave the wallet’s fee calculation intact
- The Cardano fee reference describes transaction-size-dependent fees. Use the actual preview for the transaction you intend to send; do not subtract a remembered fee from another payment. If the wallet cannot construct the requested transfer, investigate its available ADA and output requirements instead of increasing the exchange order on the assumption that all displayed holdings are spendable ADA.
Four amounts that can appear during one purchase
| Display | Meaning | Use in the exchange review |
|---|---|---|
| Portfolio valuation | A valuation combining different holdings | Not the quantity of ADA deposited |
| Recipient output | Assets assigned to the deposit address | Check the ADA quantity and exclude unintended tokens |
| Transaction fee | The source-network charge | Account for it separately from the deposit |
| DOGE receiving quote | The expected result of the exchange | Compare in DOGE, not with a raw ADA token count |
Use the transaction record before trying the deposit again
Cardano’s transaction guide explains that a submitted transaction can be inspected by its TxId. Keep that reference with the exchange order number. If the payment status is unclear, locate the output addressed to the current deposit and identify its ADA quantity. A transaction can describe more than the one payment you are trying to confirm; a screenshot of its total value may omit the relevant detail.
For the receiving side, obtain the current DOGE wallet address from the intended recipient. Do not use an asset reference from the Cardano portfolio as a Dogecoin destination. If ADA has already left your wallet, a second payment is a separate action, not a way to inspect the first one. Ask for a review of the original order and transfer record when the available evidence does not explain the status.
Funding DOGE from a multi-asset Cardano wallet
- Will custom Cardano tokens be converted into DOGE with my ADA?
- The order identifies ADA as its funding asset. Cardano’s ability to carry multiple assets does not mean the exchange accepts all of them. Do not attach unrelated tokens, and do not assume they will be converted or returned.
- Why is the wallet’s total valuation insufficient for setting the ADA amount?
- It may combine assets with different units. Use the available ADA and the actual transaction preview. The amount assigned to the deposit, the sending fee and the later DOGE quote answer different questions.
