What to know about Qtum
Qtum supports smart contracts, but a token running on Qtum is not automatically the native QTUM coin. QRC20 balances belong to individual contracts and appear separately from the wallet’s ordinary coin balance. Start an exchange check by identifying which balance you intend to send. The Qtum wallet documentation also distinguishes available, pending and total funds; a headline total is not a substitute for the amount available to spend. For a desktop wallet used for staking, review its unlock mode if sending is unavailable. Offline delegation has another distinction: the project describes it as non-custodial, with the owner retaining control. Do not assume every staking arrangement requires sending coins to someone else’s address.

Entering the wallet total without checking its pending and available portions.
Sending coins to a supposed super staker merely to establish offline delegation.

QTUM: questions and answers
Can a QRC20 token pay a native QTUM deposit?
The project describes QRC20 as a contract-token interface. That token has its own balance and identity. A deposit requesting native QTUM requires the coin specified by the route, rather than an arbitrary token on the same blockchain.
Why can a staking wallet be unlocked but unable to send?
Qtum’s wallet tutorial distinguishes unlocking for staking only from unlocking for sending. Check the mode in your installed wallet’s own interface. Unlocking is a local wallet action, not a reason to disclose a password or recovery material to another party.
Does offline delegation transfer ownership to a super staker?
Qtum describes offline staking as non-custodial: delegation designates an address while the owner keeps control of the funds. If a proposed procedure asks for a payment to a third party, do not assume it is the documented delegation mechanism.
