What to know about Filecoin
Filecoin is a decentralised storage market: storage providers pledge FIL as collateral and earn it for proving that they keep clients' data. The chain moves in 30-second epochs, and that is what makes FIL deposits slow: the provider waits for a long series of epochs before crediting, as the table shows — the lower bound alone is about an hour. Filecoin has two address families. Native addresses start with f1 or f3; the Filecoin EVM (FEVM) uses f410 addresses that map to ordinary 0x addresses. Both hold the same FIL, but not every service treats them the same way, so for a swap keep to native f1/f3 addresses unless the payout field accepts the 0x form.
