Match more than the frog image
- Ticker and full asset selection
- Confirm PEPE as the intended receiving asset in the exchange, then inspect what the destination wallet calls that asset. Search results and wallet token lists can contain similarly named entries. A familiar image is a navigation aid, not evidence that two entries identify the same token.
- Receiving network
- The provider reference reviewed for this direction offers PEPE on Ethereum. Recheck the current selection before funding because route availability can change. An account displayed under another network does not become an Ethereum receiving instruction merely because its address looks familiar or its token list contains the same symbol.
- Contract identity in the wallet
- When inspecting a token entry, compare its network and contract information with the asset you intend to receive. The reviewed provider record identifies the Ethereum contract as 0x6982508145454ce325ddbe47a25d4ec3d2311933. Treat that as token identification information, not as your payout address. Your receiving account must come from the wallet’s receive instruction.
Two Ethereum addresses can answer different questions
| Address or record | Question it answers | Where it belongs in your checks |
|---|---|---|
| PEPE token contract | Which token implementation is being identified? | Token details and asset verification |
| Your receiving account | Which account should receive the payout? | The exchange payout destination |
| A payout transaction record | Which transfer was made to that account? | Receipt verification after the exchange |
| A token-list search result | Which entry the wallet currently displays | A starting point that still needs network and identity checks |
An empty token panel is not enough to diagnose a missing payout
If the wallet does not show the expected PEPE balance, identify the selected account and network before concluding that the exchange failed. Then inspect the payout record, when available, for the recipient and token. A wallet’s display configuration and the transfer itself are separate pieces of evidence. Adding an arbitrary token from search can make the screen more confusing instead of verifying the payment.
Keep the ADA funding reference distinct from the Ethereum payout reference. The outgoing Cardano transfer does not by itself establish which token balance should be visible in your Ethereum wallet. If the payout details and the intended receiving instruction differ, preserve those details for support rather than repeating the exchange. This page explains asset identification and payment checks; it does not predict a PEPE price or return.
Identifying PEPE before exchanging ADA
- Should the PEPE contract be entered as my receiving address?
- No. A contract reference identifies the token, while your payout destination identifies the account receiving it. Open the receive instruction for your intended account and compare that destination with the exchange. Do not use a contract copied from a search result as a substitute.
- Do I need to buy PEPE first just to display the correct token?
- A purchase is not a token identity check. Review the wallet’s documented token display process and verify the account, network and contract information. Do not fund another exchange merely to test an unfamiliar entry or assume a displayed symbol proves the identity of a balance.
