DTCC, the U.S. post-trade utility, launched its DTCC Tokenization Service on October 28, 2026: eligible participants can create blockchain records of securities held at its Depository Trust Company while keeping the same ownership rights. For crypto users this is not a new coin to buy. It is institutional plumbing on permissioned and enterprise networks, and anyone selling you "DTCC tokens" is a red flag.
What has been reported
In its launch release, DTCC says its subsidiary DTC launched the DTCC Tokenization Service (DTS), which enables minting tokenized representations of real-world assets held at DTC. This follows the July 15 release, when DTC-tokenized assets were first used in production trades. The Crypto Basic and KuCoin also reported the launch, naming Canton and DTCC's private Besu network as the first supported chains.

Why you cannot buy it on a crypto exchange
These tokens represent securities already held at DTC, and access is through DTC participants, which are banks and brokers. They live on Canton and a private network, not on Ethereum or Tron where your wallet holds USDT. A tokenized share is still a regulated security with the same rules as the original.
What it changes for crypto users
- Nothing in your wallet: no airdrop, no new coin, no action needed.
- Expect more "tokenized stock" headlines and, with them, more scams using big brand names. Check links with our phishing link checker.
- Stablecoins and tokenized funds are increasingly used as settlement tools by institutions; that is where most of the practical overlap with crypto lies.
- If someone offers you a DTCC or "tokenized Nasdaq" coin, ask who the issuer is and where it is registered.
- Look for the offer on the official site of the named institution.
- Do not connect your wallet to a site you reached from an ad or a DM.
For ordinary crypto swaps, see the exchange, for example ETH to USDT or USDT to BTC.

Can I buy DTCC tokenized stocks?
Not as a retail crypto user. Access goes through DTC participants such as banks and brokers, and the tokens live on Canton and a private network.
